Get some exercise

Depression can really take its toll on the body. Symptoms of depression, such as lack of motivation or energy and insomnia, can make just getting out of bed, seem like a rigorous workout. But jump-starting a fitness plan could actually give you an edge over depression. Exercise can help improve your mood, relieve stress and increase your energy.

There are lots of quick and easy ways to incorporate a workout into your daily life, whether it's taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking your car farther from the entrance at work or the mall. You just need to develop an exercise program and set some goals. Be sure to check with your doctor before starting any exercise regimen.
